The oracle speaks: we hereby predict that your Friday nights this fall will include... a foulmouthed violet alien, a shiny gold robot with a prissy accent, and a babe that makes Seven of Nine look about as sexy as an engine block (okay, a well-lubricated engine block).

We're talking about Tripping the Rift, the new animated series coming this fall from the SciFi channel. This series doesn't just skewer science fiction archetypes and cliches - it impales them, draws and quarters them, and then dances exhuberantly among the entrails. The Tripping The Rift preview is up on the web now, and is among the funniest shit we've seen in the past five years. (Warning: includes gratuitous violence to stormtroopers, crude sexual byplay, and evil clowns with lightsabers. May not be suitable for children younger than 12, or George Lucas).Watch the short film, "Tripping The Rift

Watch the short film, "Kunstbar"
After you pay a visit to the Kunstbar, you will never look at art the same way again... or at drinking, for that matter.

The 1 to 7 minutes it takes to get Kunstbar is worth it. Start the download, go off and read in some other part of the site, and come back when it's ready (and then hit F11 so the madness fills your screen).
You'll need Flash for this one - if you don't have it already, it'll give you the option of downloading it...

The Petrie Lounge group are proof that very cool art CAN be collaborative. Denis Gonzalez, John Halfpenny, Chris LaBonte, Paul Teglas and Steve Whitehouse took some time away from their day jobs animating Beetlejuice and EEK! the Cat, and the result... well, after you see it you'll know why Kunstbar has been getting such amazing buzz.
